Ring2Skype is a service that allows you to have a local phone number in NYC, London, and 100 other cities from all over the world, and answer calls to those numbers in your Skype, wherever in the world you are, for FREE.

What is the difference between Ring2Skype and Skype?
|
Ring2Skype offers you a real phone number, not an account name. People can call you to that number from any phone, landline or mobile, and you answer the call through Skype, wherever you are.

What is the difference between Ring2Skype and a Skype Online Number (SkypeIn™)?
|
Ring2Skype is FREE. Skype charges you for an online number. Another difference is that Ring2Skype for provides numbers in more than 100 destinations, while Skype only in 20.

Do I need to download any special software?
|
No. As long as you have Skype already installed, you are ready to go.

Do I need to enter my credit card information?
|
No. Ring2Skype is a free service and we only require a valid email address to send you your local phone number(s).

What is an online number?
|
An online number is your own personal telephone number people can call you on, but which you answer directly on your Skype.
With an online number friends who aren't using Skype can reach you by dialling your online number - you receive and answer the call in Skype no matter where in the world you are.

How does Ring2Skype work?
|
Three easy steps:
1) Go to www.ring2skype.com
2) Enter your Skype account name, email address, city where you want your number, and choose a password.
3) Click "Get your number" and that's it: you will receive the number on your email.
Give that number to your friends, family and business contacts, and next time they call you to that number, it will ring on your Skype. They will only pay a standard local rate (or nothing, if they have a flat rate or unlimited plan), and you can talk to them for FREE. It makes absolutely no difference where in the world you are or how long do you talk: the call will have no cost to you.

Can I have more than one online number?
|
Yes, you can have more than one online number registered to your Skype account.

Can I get a number in a different country (from where I reside)?
|
Yes, it is possible to have online numbers in more than one of the available countries regardless of where you are currently living. As a matter of fact, that is the beauty of this service: you can live in India or Buenos Aires, and have your clients in NYC call you to a NYC local number. You just answer their calls at home, from your Skype. Free for them, free for you.

How much will it cost my friends to call my online number?
|
Think of it as a regular phone number, so any charges that might regularly occur from calling a number in that location still apply.
An example: If you have an online number in New York and a friend living in New York calls you from a regular landline, they will not be charged. If a friend in Los Angeles calls you to your New York number, they will be charged the regular fee that they would normally apply for a Los Angeles-New York call.

Can I use my existing home number as my online number?
|
No. Unfortunately online numbers must come from a pre-selected range provided by us.

Can someone reach my online number from another country?
|
Yes, online numbers act as regular phone numbers and are reachable from anywhere in the world. Just remember though, long distance charges might apply if someone is calling your number from another country.

Can more than one Skype Name share an online number?
|
No, currently this option is not available.

Can I forward calls to my online number?
|
Yes, you can forward a call to your online number as you would with any other phone call.

Why do I get a phone number plus an extension? Can't I just get an individual phone number without the extension?

Unfortunately, the only way we can offer this service for free is to give a pre-fixed local number plus your own private extension. If you want to get a local number without the extension, there are several companies that offer this service, but they all charge a fee. If you still want this option, we recommend JetNumbers .

How is Ring2Skype able to offer the service for free? How do you plan to make money?
|
We have been working and investing in telcoms in the last decade and, through proprietary technology, we are able to offer this service at almost no cost for our company. This is how we do it: We give each user a local phone number plus a private extension. In this way, we absorb the cost of each line by 990 extensions, and that is why we are able to offer the service at absolutely no cost to our users.
We will explore different revenue paths as we continue to grow, but one thing is for sure: the service is and will remain free to our customers.
